CONSECUTIVE TRANSLATION
Best for:
Technical visits, meetings, press conferences, escort/travel interpreting, among others.
Dynamics:
In consecutive translation, there is a short interval after the speaker speaks, and before the interpreter translates the speech. The speaker speaks in the source language, pauses for a short while, and the interpreter reproduces the speech in the target language; this cycle is repeated consecutively. This translation modality is often used for press conferences. It does not require translation equipment. However, consecutive translation takes more time and breaks the pace of the event.
